Guided Component Testing Just Got Even More Powerful

EXPERIENCE THE POWER OF THE LATEST SOFTWARE

Modern engine systems are more efficient than ever, but that efficiency brings added complexity when diagnosing faults. Boost pressure issues, airflow faults, and sensor-related DTCs can often lead technicians towards incorrect conclusions if components are not properly validated.

With Guided Component Tests (CTM), there is no need for guesswork. You gain access to structured, step-by-step testing procedures and workflows that allow you to verify components quickly and identify the root cause of issues quickly and with confidence.

GUIDED COMPONENT TESTS REDUCE GUESSWORK

Traditional diagnostics often leads to:

  • Replacing components based on fault codes alone

  • Following lengthy test procedures without direction

  • Missing mechanical causes behind electrical faults

However, real-world faults are often influenced by:

  • Airflow restrictions or boost leaks

  • Known system behaviours and failure patterns

  • Mechanical faults that affect sensor readings

Guided Component Tests combine accurate data, system knowledge, and structured workflows, helping you move directly to the correct diagnostic path.

LESS GUESSWORK. FASTER, ACCURATE FIXES.

Guided Component Tests help you:

  • Validate components before replacement
  • Identify mechanical and electrical faults together
  • Follow structured, efficient diagnostic steps
  • Reduce unnecessary parts replacement
  • Improve first-time fix rates
  • Minimise repeat repairs and comebacks

What's New Highlight

What’s Hot in the Latest Software Release

Count on Us to Keep You One Step Ahead

Modern diagnostics requires more than reading fault codes, it requires understanding how systems behave in real conditions.

The latest software release expands Guided Component Test (CTM) coverage across key systems, including forced induction and ABS, combining:

  • Guided Testing Procedures: Step-by-step validation for sensors, actuators, and circuits
  • OEM Data Integration: Accurate specifications and expected results
  • Real-World Insight: Known faults and behaviours affecting system performance
  • Supporting Visuals: Clear test setups and component locations

These enhancements help technicians move from assumption-based repairs to evidence-based diagnosis, improving efficiency and workshop productivity.

Audi® A5 2.0L Diesel (2011–2017) New ABS Guided Component Tests

On the Audi A5 2.0L Diesel (2011–2017), ABS warning light faults relating to DTC: C101A-29 (Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor – Range/Performance) can often lead to unnecessary sensor replacement.

Wheel speed signal faults are not always caused by the sensor itself. Intermittent or unstable readings can be influenced by wiring integrity, signal variation under load, or installation conditions, making accurate confirmation essential before component removal.

New in This Software Release: New ABS Troubleshooter Tips highlight known faults and service considerations for this application, supported by enhanced imagery to clearly identify component location and condition. Guided Component Tests can then be used to confirm signal behaviour and circuit integrity, ensuring the fault is correctly identified before any parts are replaced.

A key service consideration on this vehicle is the sensor mounting design. The wheel speed sensor is secured into the hub using a 5mm Allen bolt, and due to corrosion between dissimilar materials, it can become seized in position.

Attempting removal without prior confirmation can result in:

  • Sensor breakage within the hub
  • Additional repair time to extract the remaining component

By combining Guided Component Tests with Troubleshooter insight, technicians can confirm the root cause before removal, avoid unnecessary parts replacement, and reduce the risk of additional repair work.

Mitsubishi® L200 2.4L Diesel (2016–2019) Boost Pressure / MAP Fault

On the Mitsubishi L200 2.4L Diesel (2016–2019), boost pressure faults relating to DTC: P0106 (MAP Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance) can often lead to unnecessary MAP sensor replacement.

Low boost or implausible pressure readings are not always caused by the sensor itself. In many cases, these faults are influenced by airflow and pressure delivery issues within the intake system, where restrictions or blockages can directly affect sensor output.

New in This Software Release: New Engine Troubleshooter Tips highlight known issues within the intake system, supported by enhanced imagery to clearly identify inspection points such as pipework and pressure stubs. Guided Component Tests can then be used to verify sensor output, reference voltage, and ground integrity, ensuring the sensor and circuit are operating correctly before any parts are replaced.

A known consideration on this application is restriction within the intake manifold vacuum pipe or pressure stub, often caused by carbon build-up. This can lead to incorrect pressure readings, triggering limp mode and setting boost-related fault codes.

If these areas are not inspected early in the diagnostic process, the fault may be incorrectly attributed to the sensor itself.

By combining Guided Component Tests with Troubleshooter insight, technicians can identify non-electrical causes of the fault, confirm the true root cause, and avoid unnecessary component replacement.

Take a Deeper Dive into Forced Induction Diagnosis

Guided Component Testing for Boost & Airflow Systems

To fully understand the value of Guided Component Testing, it’s important to see how structured diagnostics apply to realworld forced induction faults.

Forced Induction Overview and Diagnosis explores:

  • How turbochargers and superchargers operate within modern engine systems

  • Why boost- and airflow-related faults often lead to incorrect component replacement

  • The impact of mechanical issues—such as restrictions, leaks, or carbon buildup—on sensor readings

  • How fault codes indicate symptoms, not always the root cause

The article also highlights how Guided Component Tests and Troubleshooter insights support accurate diagnosis by combining known-good data, structured workflows, and realworld repair intelligence—helping technicians move beyond assumptions and confidently identify the true cause of the fault before replacing components.
